American Airlines will expand its presence in Asia with the launch of a daily service from Los Angeles to Hong Kong in September.
“This route connects customers in Los Angeles with one of the world’s most important business markets and provides convenient connections to important business and leisure destinations across the Pacific,” American’s chief marketing officer Andrew Nocella said in a statement.
American’s new Los Angeles-Hong Kong service will be operated as part of their joint business with Japan Airlines.
The route, scheduled to start service September 7, will be flown on American’s three-class Boeing 777-300ER. Flight AA137 will depart Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 0155 and arrive in Hong Kong at 0810 the next day. The return service on flight AA138 will then take off from Hong Kong at 2020, before touching back down in LAX at 1840.
Booking for the new route will begin on March 20.
